It's the second week of Elevate and it's a cracker! Im gonna jump into it. Midday TV constantly advertise products of all kinds of shapes and sizes. Most of the time, they start off by saying that you're in a bad situation and that they have something you need. If you're floors dirty, you need a swivel sweeper. If you use too many kinds of makeup, you need thin lizie. If you need to get fit you need the ab circle pro. In short we need something and they have it. Then comes the classic line, "And, there's more! If you call in the next 10 minutes, we'll offer you all this for stuff and throw in all these extras". It might sounds pretty corny, but that's a somewhat like Ephesians 2. The only difference is that Ephesians 2 is so much cooler (Read on for more) ....
We were dead in our transgressions and objects of God's wrath. When you're dead, you can do anything at all. Just in case it wasn't totally clear, Paul says it again. Repeating stuff in the Bible is something like like highlighting it, underlining it, putting it in bold, and in gigantic font so that people take notice. We were DEAD in our transgressions. That's a pretty bleak situation indeed. But that isnt the end of the story. Not at all....
What do we need? We need God. "Because of his great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made is alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our transgressions". Even when we were screwed up, even when we were helpless, even when we hated him, God made us alive with Christ. "It is by grace you have been saved". Oh and its totally free, you dont have to do a thing or pay a cent. That's why it says "....this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" Do you get how amazing that is? Dwell on that. Think about it. Marvel at it. Be in awe of God. That is grace. But that isn't the end of the story. Not at all....
And is an awesome word. English teachers might hate like it, but I reckon its a very profound word. Yes grace is awesome. Yes it is amazing. But this is only a portion what what is to come. And there's more! Seriously? You bet! What else did God do? "And he seated us with him (Jesus), in the heavenly realms...".. Why? "...in order that in the coming ages he might show us the incomparable riches of his grace". In a nutshell, it will take eternity for God to show you the full extent of his grace. Jesus on the cross was just the beginning. There is a whole eternity of it to come. Wow.
There's a whole lot more that I could talk about. but I wanna hear what blew your mind in the passage, so please leave your thoughts below :) Also, if you havent already started with DEEPER, let me encourage you to dive in right now and begin to grow in your relationship with God.

As well as its Gods gift that he has granted us with this Life, but it is through his own special favour that we recieve this! We are all ONE with christ.
What blew me away was how that although Christ IS perfect and without sin, God levels us up to the same standard ... By seating us with Jesus! We arent before or after Christ, but God equally places us in that same value.
Its almost like we have been 'recreated' because of jesus. We are now ALIVE.
how cool.
I love it Andy! Yiew!
For today's reading 4/05
Ephesians 2
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith." Love it, its awesome =)
Yes I love it indeed....I wish we could spend longer on this passage! Love it Em, we are a new creation in Christ indeed!
God is great in love and rich in mercy...He is amazing!
