Jeff Buckley wrote a song called grace, (part of) it goes something like this "Rain in the fire, rain in the fire" its rad. Basically thats what grace is. We all know that we screw up. Everyone screws up. Some know they're screwed up, others just don't think about it for any number of reasons (they simply don't think about what they do or their character, or are just focussed on other stuff, like cash or women (or men), or whatever). Thats what grace is, thats what the death of Jesus bought, rain in the fire to all mankind. When we where still in our sins, in our fire, Jesus died to ease the load, to quench the heat, he was, and is our rain in the fire, amen! We all know we make selfish decisions, and are often blind to part of ourselves. Often we think our way is right, and every other way is stupid or a waste of time or simply not quite as good as our way. Otherwise we’d follow that way right? Anyway we all know that there’s fire. And for that rain came. Without rain there is eternal fire. Hell. Jesus came to break the cycle. Men are not holy or righteous by their own efforts, they’re just not. With God (as in the trinity), then and only then are they made righteous. And when they submit to the will of God, it rains all the harder. The fire isn’t about being righteous any more, its about being the righteousness and having the world try to take that, that which they cannot achieve themselves. Without Jesus there is no redemtption of sins. Jesus was around pre creation and knew his task all along. Thank You JC that you died for our sins, AMEN!!
