Andy's blog

Who are you listening to?

Tonight was the last night of the term and what a cracker! We had a separate guys and girls night. Guys had “ManPacto” with Danny Bunton and girls had “Daughters of the King” with Tina Chen. They both gave us a well needed reminder of what it means to be men and women of God. You see, the world will bombard you with so many twisted ideas and distorted images of what it thinks men and women should be like. It's terrible!

Lets talk about death....

Another week at Elevate and Impact and it totally went off. Thanks to Justin for coming in and speaking about how in Jesus, death isn’t the end. That’s always tough stuff and he did a great job! Sorry this blog is kinda late, lots of stuff going on. I was racking my brain for an illustration and couldn’t really find one. I’m not sure why, but its just been on my heart to say that !

Are you adopted? Its awesome!

Hooley Dooley. Twas the second gig night at Elevate and ESCEND came on in and rocked the house! Impact (quite literally) had a bucket of fun with the most amazing water fight ever! Ed and Myles brought the word to us which as usual was wholesome stuff. Ironically, most gossip magazines aren’t so wholesome. They are generally quite trashy. But a while back, there I came across a gem of an article!!

You cant do anything about a bad prognosis

It was the first tribe night at elevate and a rave at impact. Fun times were had all around. There was also a solid word brought to us by Ed and Myles about how we need a saviour. They rock!

Kookaburras, Fluffy Dice, Psychopaths and Jesus

Well, this week was the first tribe night and there was a pretty cool new setup with the lamps up at elevate and the rave down at impact. Yet again, both Ed and Myles gave amazing talks. To be honest though, I got kind of confused on the topics, but thought i should put this up anyways. How does a typical days tart off for you?

God, Grandma and Woodwork

How sick was the first gig night? Planet of the stereos rocked my socks off... and i wasn’t even wearing socks! But even better than that, it was awesome to see so many of your friends there. But all in all, I hope you guys and gals had a heap of fun and really enjoyed yourselves. Well....I was reflecting on the weekend and God fired me up to write a bit about creation. I know Pete already did an awesome blog, but this is sorta on my heart as well and it needs to come out :p

Catch me when I fall?

It’s the second week of term. What a cracker!

Jesus loves wolves and lamb

Sooo it’s the start of a brand spanking new term. It was awesome to see so many new faces there. Ed gave a solid talk. Fire up coz, its only gonna get better!...Anyway, how many of you guys played cowboys and Indians when you were younger?

You say, Jesus says

Long time no see everybody. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2009 is going to be an amazing year...get totally pumped for JG coz It’s gonna go off like a rocket! Anyway, you may be wondering why I’m writing a blog at 3am in the morning. Well, I know we haven’t started the term just yet, but I was praying and some ideas came to mind....

The Cat in the Hat, Soft and Hard hearts

Its been a long wait, but this was the last week of the year. It was also Ben and Beth’s last youth group here at St James. Ben and Beth, on behalf of everyone at Elevate and Impact, Thank you. Thank you for all the time and effort and sacrifice you put in during your time here. Thank you for your love and patience and kindness and commitment and service. Thank you for being there for every one of us. Thank you so much. You have both been such a phenomenal blessing to everyone in so many ways that are difficult to express in words. Thank you for everything you have done..
